![]() ![]() It turned out really well, so I am thinking that the next ones will have tops that are also made out of records. As some of you may have seen in my other posts I have a Teisco project I am working that has a pickguard I made out of an old record. ![]() I think since the prototypes worked so well, I am going to make some nicer ones to install. It also seems to make the remaining squalling more usable and easier to manage. They work VERY well! They don't eliminate all of the screeching, but it does do away with a lot of it. I popped them in the Casino and tried them out. It only took about an hour and I had all the stuff around the house to make them. Using only materials I had laying around, I made myself some prototype plugs. I know there are a couple of companies (such as Doug's Plugs) who sell f hole plugs, but I wanted to see if it worked before I shelled out $60+ for a set. ![]() So, I decided that I needed a similar plug for the f holes in my Casino. I purchased a sound hole plug and it all but eliminated the noise. I also play an Ovation acoustic/electric through my pedal board and have had a similar problem with it. It obviously gets better if I stand further away from the amp, but my practice space is not very big so I can't move more than about 8 feet away from it. As I am sure a lot of you have experienced with hollow and semi hollow guitars, I am getting a lot of squealing when I use fuzz or overdrive and turn the amp up past a dull hum. ![]()
